Where is Apartment 2, Deep Blue located within the Resort?
You will find Apartment 2 so close and easy to find after arrival at Tangalooma jetty. It is literally a 5 minute walk from the boat and you are inside your Apartment at Deep Blue.
What about my luggage?
At the wharf in Brisbane you will be given tags for your luggage/esky’s etc. Label them with Apt 2, Deep Blue. On arrival at Tangalooma your luggage will be delivered approx 30 mins after arrival, downstairs in the lobby/garage area of Deep Blue. This is also where you leave your luggage on the day of departure for pick up. Check with reception for the time required. Note: Your luggage is only delivered if you are travelling on the Tangalooma passenger launch. For MICAT barge you will need to look after your own luggage.
Can I feed the dolphins?
After arrival at Tangalooma we suggest you head down to the Tours Desk and ask about a Standby package that includes dolphin feeding.
Can I use the Resort facilities?
Yes, all resort facilities are available for our guests of Apartment 2. Some activities have a nominal charge. Please see reception regarding dolphin feeding.
Do I need to bring linen?
No. The Apartment is fully self contained including linen. You will need to provide your own beach towels.
How do I get the key to Apartment 2?
You will be provided with all the details for access to the unit after confirmation of your stay.
Is there a shop at the Resort?
Yes there is a Mini-mart located underneath the Deep Blue building which is very convenient. You can buy all your basics for your stay including fresh milk, bread and newspapers daily. It also stocks souvenirs, and personal items.
Where does the Tangalooma Launch leave from and how much does it cost?
Tangalooma passenger launch transfers depart from Holt Street Wharf, Pinkenba, Brisbane. The Holt Street wharf is located only 10 kilometres from Brisbane Airport and 15 minutes from the CBD. The cost is $84 pp for Adults and $46 for children. (return)
Can I leave my car at the wharf?
Yes, there is an open-air car park available at Holt St Wharf. The costs are $15 per vehicle per day or $60 per week. The car park is fenced and locked each evening. There is also limited street parking available on Holt Street.
What is the Air & Sea temperature on Moreton Island?
Moreton Island has a comfortable sub-tropical climate all year round perfect for enjoying the outdoors. During the warmer months from November to March the temperatures average approx 28 deg C. and during winter or the cooler months from May to August the average temperature is 20 deg C. The water temperatures averages 20 – 26 degrees C.
Are there disabled facilities at the Resort?
Tangalooma Island Resort is wheelchair friendly with disabled toilets and ramp access to most facilities. Apartment 2, Deep Blue has lift access to level 1 and the Apartment is on one level so its easy to access.
Can I bring my pets to Tangalooma?
No. Moreton Island is 98% National Park and therefore pets are prohibited.
Can I bring Alcohol on the Tangalooma Launch?
No. As Tangalooma Launch Services are fully licensed, no alcohol can be brought onto the launch vessels.
Is there Internet access at the Resort?
Yes there is currently wireless (WiFi) networks available in various locations across the resort.
The resort also has access to Telstra 3G and Optus Internet reception and their various subsidiaries, so guests are encouraged to bring their own portable internet sticks with them.
Are there EFTPOS and ATM available at the Resort?
Tangalooma offers EFTPOS and credit card facilities at several locations at the resort including reception, the resort shop, tours desk, restaurants and bars.
When is the Whale Watching Season?
The whale watching season runs from June through to October each year. Tangalooma’s Whale Watch Cruise can be booked as an activity departing from the Tangalooma Jetty which runs for 3 hours from the jetty and the cruise includes lunch. Please book with Tanga Tours or reception.
I want to take my 4WD?
Taking a 4WD to Moreton Island enables you to access and to enjoy the whole Island. For bookings across to Tangalooma Wrecks on the MICAT vehicular barge (north of the Resort) click here. On arrival at the Tangalooma wrecks you will need to drive the Tangalooma bypass road to get to Deep Blue.
